Old Settler's Day in Floyd County, Texas
kids' tractor pull
The kids' pedal-tractor pull competition is always popular!
Each spring, people from across Floyd County gather around the courthouse square in downtown Floydada to celebrate the annual Old Settler's Day.
After naming the oldest man and oldest woman living in the county and enjoying a meal of great barbecue brisket, all gather to view the big parade around the square.
The parade features everything from riding clubs and floats from local organizations to the newest in farm machinery and antique tractors. For a small town, the parade is usually quite large and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour.
So you can get a flavor of our home town on this special day, we've included some photographs below. Simply click on any image below to see a large version of the picture.
