Football
is both fun and serious business in small town Texas and Floydada
is no exception.
The Floydada Whirlwinds play AA level high school football at Wester Field
located just south of the old high school (now Jr. High) building.
Chanting
the Floydada High School fight-song "F-L-O-Y-D-A-D-A, Whirlwinds,
Whirlwinds, Fight-Fight-Fight!", the atmosphere in the stands
is always fun and spirited. Moms and dads, brothers and sisters
and friends eagerly anticipate each hard-hitting play and follow
each snap of the ball as if it were a world championship game.
You should know that it's common for Texas football coaches to prescribe
the eating of great beef barbecue
brisket to their players. They know the lean, protein laden beef helps build
muscle with a minimum of fat!

OK,
so the mascot looks more like a green Michelin Man - it's a try!
